Here's a really quick Photoshop experiment I did just now, taking one of my earlier sketches.
So sorry about my lazy colouring skills! Lots of using the multiply tool as you can see.
Still not confident about digital colouring/ brushing but I'm learning.
I hope I improve!
P.S. I will be uploading this weeks progress on my uni project at the end of the week.
