Some more developmental sketchbook work for my project on Treasure Island.
I'm beginning to get into the characters now, and I find it natural to draw them in a stylized way I am confident with.
I tried to be quite quick and spontaneous with these sketches, and in a way gives the characters some depth...
Below shows an outcome from an In Design workshop, where we were asked to produce a book cover. I had selected one of my previous sketches from my sketchbook and worked a design around it, adding more graphic shapes and colour.
It was just a quick dummy experiment, but proved to be helpful; I will take this forward to produce my book cover later down the line, for my final outcome design.
Photographing it this way and placing the printed outcome on a book displays the context quite well...
I'm starting to think of what else I could do outside of the sketchbook work, and found this piece of inspiration in our university library. At the moment there is currently an exhibition called Plastic Vanitas- this is one of the exhibition pieces below by Katie Bligh, and thought it might serve inspiration to my project...
Excited to see what direction my project will lead to next...
